Kliptown Children and Youth Club (KCYC)

Project Coordinator: Bob Nameng
KCYC was created in response to an absence of recreational activities, role models, and positive experiences, in addition to an abundance of idle time, crime, despair.
Purpose: To provide Arts and Creativity as options to choose from for potential careers by producing professional actors, good story writers, and young directors. At its core is the power of expression by allowing children to express themselves, using their life experiences at home, at school, or in the streets as the source of great storytelling.

Objectives:
-
To develop professional actors
-
To provide a positive, educational vehicle through which children can express themselves
-
To develop writing skills, especially in the form of storytelling
-
To develop directors
-
To create employment opportunities
-
To teach the community as a whole through our works
-
To use our productions to raise awarenes and funds
-
To build self respect
Outcomes:
-
To promote local, young, professional actors into large scale, national and international productions
-
To create an international reputation for SKY productions; thus, building the program and the respect of our community
-
To see our vision, rather than imagine it: "ensure and encourage a freethinking society with maximum utilization of human creativy".
