Training Programmes

This project currently has fourteen active members in addition to others being trained in journalism, editing, photography, writing, graphic designing and web designing.


Purpose: To provide potential career skills to young people so that they might be empowered with confidence.  This program develops future employment creators as well.  An important part of the program is to establish a networking opportunity and framework for young people to exchange with overseas and local private schools for the purpose of building confidence in our participants and share our culture with others.

 

Objectives:

  • To train and equip SKY members with necessary skills
  • To conduct monthly workshops
  • To produce the monthly News Letter,Vuk’ukhanye (Rise and Shine).
  • To network with schools from USA, Australia, Sweden and within South Africa
  • To develop advanced interpersonal and communication skills
  • To market and publicize SKY

Outcomes:

  • To build independence and confidence in our youth 
  • To provide creative ways for our youth to express themselves
  • To create future employment creators
  • To empower young people to effectively participate in building a better economy within Kliptown and more broadly, South Africa
  • To provide young people with choices, thus gaining their interest in learning
  • To eradicate illiteracy
  • To eradicate the source of poverty
  • To nurture young people to give back to their communities
  • To ultimately build a better life for all
