WLS is a group of female volunteers which has been working in Uttar Pradesh for around 2 years, focusing on alleviating superstition and promoting scientific temperament. We do this through well-planned and comprehensive programmes related to science & technology, engineering and mathematics. We also focus on generating and sharing knowledge with all age groups to influence sustainable impact at large scale. Our overall goal is the empowerment of women and girls from poor and marginalised communities, orphanage children and people living at old age homes leading to develop scientific temper at grassroots levels. We are part of the SKY Foundation which is focused to disseminate knowledge based on science communication as well as astronomy.

WLS explores how some people are excluded from science education and communication. Taking the role of science in society as a starting point, it critically examines the concept of equity in science learning and develops a framework to support inclusive change. Our activities include hands-on-experimentation, seminar, workshop, quizzes, science writings and many more according to the need of that particular event.
